If you transfer to another vehicle or enter a subway station once your transfer has expired and tap your card or ticket, you will be charged another fare. NOTE: The two-hour transfer does not apply to ticket, token or cash customers. Our same transfer rules apply, customers must be travelling in a continuous one-way direction with no stop overs.
Transfers are free and must be obtained where you pay your fare. Customers can take advantage of the TTC’s two-hour transfer when they pay their fare using a PRESTO card, PRESTO Ticket, debit or credit card (including the cards loaded in your mobile wallet). A transfer is applied to the card or PRESTO Ticket when you first tap on a card reader.
A two-hour transfer will automatically be applied to your card when you tap on a reader. Make sure you tap with the same card each time you transfer within the two-hour period, or else you will be charged a new fare. Credit and debit cards are accepted on all buses, streetcars, Wheel-Trans vehicles and at all subway stations.
