The test results are making me wonder if the network for this (and the other) VMs is optimally set. I do not expect the VM to perform the same -- it is virtualized, it's a server, etc -- but really didn't expect a 60% reduction in speed. Basic stats: Hosts: VMWare 7.0, fully patched 3 vSwitches - one for management, once for iSCSI, one for VMs.
Aug 23, 2022 · My Host OS is Windows 11, my guest OS is Linux Mint 20.1 (its the ova the school provided for us to work with). On my host, i get 900-950mb upload and around 850-950mb download speeds. On my Linux guest OS, I'm getting 60-70mb down and 80mb up. Code: Select all. sudo lshw -C network *-network description: Ethernet interface product: 82540EM ...

After you run the test, the speed test screen displays results for VMware Lab Platform and cloud speed for all the clouds, and for VMware Lab Platform and cloud network latency. Network latency results are color coded as follows: Results less than 300 ms are shown in green. Results greater than 300 and less than 450 ms ...
Jan 3, 2019 · Your screenshot already tells you you’re getting better than 1GB speed (which tends to cap out at 100MBps give or take burst across a LAN). The 156MBps is closer to ready/write from a disk array which is what your VM to VM transfer is doing (essentially copying a file to and from the same storage media with a little overhead from the Hypervisor).
I am using a windows Virtual Machine(VM) on Azure, I would like to measure the internet speed. As it seems really laggy. SO I ran the speed test on the VM from ookla and it gave me I believe a ridiculous number such as 1000 mbps for download and about 250 for upload. Is this the right way to test what I looking for, what am I missing here ?
