Jul 17, 2024 · God wants us to “grow in the grace and knowledge” of Him (2 Peter 3:18). He invites us to seek His wisdom and even provides us with the perfect resource to find it. For within the pages of His Word, God delights in revealing Himself to us. The Bible contains a wonderful variety of subject matter, language and writing styles.
God’s moral law is contained within us and His creation declares that He exists. Specific Revelation. Since the creation will not give us specific revelation, that is, specific or special information about God, He has given us the Bible which are His words to us. The Bible provides us with very specific information about God Himself.

Furthermore, Jesus displayed supernatural knowledge (John 4:29) and performed miracles in God’s power, like healing the sick (Matthew 8:16-17) and raising the dead (John 11:1-45).
Man cannot see God in his current state as a human that has not attained perfection such that he can stand before God without perishing. Although this does not take place until the believer dies or is raptured so that he is absent from he body, and present with the Lord; the believer can see how God reveals Himself.

Implied in the word “revelation” is the fact that God must make himself known to us. On our own, we cannot know God. Revelation must come from his initiative.
