- Manitoba's Legislative Building
The Manitoba Legislative Building (French: Palais législatif du Manitoba), originally named the Manitoba Parliament Building, is the meeting place of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, located in central Winnipeg, as well as being the twelfth provincial heritage site of Manitoba.
The Rotunda. The antechamber at the head of the grand staircase provides a formal approach to the legislative chamber. Four pairs of Corinthian columns rise from the floor to the cornice surrounding the base of the dome.
Guided tours of the Legislative Building are booked through the Visitor Tour Program and are offered in English or French. Limit of 30 people admitted for each guided tour. Reservation (phone or e-mail us) or walk-up on first come first serve basis.
Oct 22, 2018 · Manitoba Legislative Building Architecture. Located downtown Winnipeg, between Broadway and the Assiniboine River lies the 77 meter tall Manitoba Legislative Buildings. Adorned at the very top of the stone structure is “The Golden Boy” (picture 1).
The Golden Boy atop the dome is symbolic of Manitoba’s eternal youth and progress. This is Manitoba’s third Legislative Building, built after a period of extraordinary growth and development.
