I personally feel that Better Animals mobs don't fit alongside other mobs well, they feel over-modeled. I am generally a fan of "vanilla plus" styled mods in general so I might have a slight bias. I'll still say Alex's mobs as they aren't just there to look pretty, they all have unique behaviors, functionality, and items crafted from their drops.
