Oct 9, 2020 · For disks, you are missing a couple, e.g. Altirra's save disk dialog: Cartridge files are typically ROM, BIN, or CAR - the first 2 being the 'dump', e.g. exactly 8K, 16K, 128K in size, and the CAR includes a 16 byte header before the dump which (primarily) describes to an emulator or multi-cart's fimrware which mapper it should use.
Load the Atari disk image you want to copy the file(s) into in APE's drive 2. Use your favorite Atari DOS to copy the files from drive 1 (PC) to drive 2 (Atari disk image on PC). This is possible because APE's PC-MIRROR makes the raw contents of your PC's hard disk look just like an Atari disk, so NO special software is required.

Type: format a: /t:80 /n:9 and you will get 720KB floppy usable on all Ataris (except those rares with single sided floppy). Other way is to format floppy on Atari. But I recommend to use only specialized format programs which have PC compatible formats in list.
Jun 18, 2018 · I use a USB floppy on Win10 to copy FILES to 720k disks, and it works fine. Format the disk on the Atari, put it in the USB drive on your PC, copy files using Windows Explorer. Put the disk back in the ST. It works. HOWEVER you can't use it to write ST disk images, as 99% of ST disk images are unusual formats, which USB drives can't cope with.
