I announce a new tool I made: ST Recover can read Atari ST floppy disks on a PC under Windows, including special formats as 800 or 900 KB and damaged or desynchronized disks, and produces standard .ST disk image files. Jun 18, 2018 · I use a USB floppy on Win10 to copy FILES to 720k disks, and it works fine. Format the disk on the Atari, put it in the USB drive on your PC, copy files using Windows Explorer. Put the disk back in the ST. It works. HOWEVER you can't use it to write ST disk images, as 99% of ST disk images are unusual formats, which USB drives can't cope with.

Floppy Image & file transfer program
This is a modern Windows based disk acquisition and image file handler. It will handle some copy protections I believe but not all, for that you will need a KyroFluxdevice. Their instructions are straight forward and I guide you to them for further advise.

This is the simplest method to image disks using DOS but is an old way of doing it becasue of the use of DOS. Also makedisk cannot handle copy protected disks. 1. Pasti
Pasti can handle protected disks and other images but you need a real ST to use this software.
