- Jacob Protected Her from Esau. Dinah was born when the family lived in Padan Aram, near her grandfather, Laban. As Jacob moved them back toward the Holy Land—his birthplace—they encountered her rogue uncle, Esau.
- She Was Raped and Abducted. After the family settled near the city of Shechem, the local prince, whose name was also Shechem, saw her, desired her, raped her, and took her to his home.
- Reuben. Reuben was the firstborn son of Jacob with his wife Leah. His birth is recorded in Genesis 29:32 – “And Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben, for she said, ‘Because the Lord has looked upon my affliction; for now my husband will love me.'”
- Simeon. Simeon was the second son born to Jacob through Leah. Genesis 29:33 states – “She conceived again and bore a son, and said, ‘Because the Lord has heard that I am hated, he has given me this son also.’
- Levi. Levi was the third son of Leah and Jacob. His birth is recorded in Genesis 29:34 – “Again she conceived and bore a son, and said, ‘Now this time my husband will be attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.’
- Judah. Judah was the fourth son born to Leah. Genesis 29:35 states – “And she conceived again and bore a son, and said, ‘This time I will praise the Lord.’
Acts 7:14 states that "all his relatives" were 75 people, and "relatives" includes Joseph's surviving sisters-in-law. Sons of Jacob - Jacob had twelve sons and fifty-three grandsons.
