  1. Dec 20, 2023 · The Atari 2600+ is designed to work with original Atari 2600 and Atari 7800 cartridges. It isn’t 100% compatible with all cartridges, but the vast majority of official Atari carts do function with the system. A list of compatible games can be found on Atari’s website here.

    The Atari 2600+ comes out tomorrow for $129.99 (see it on Amazon). Anyone who lived through the early days of console gaming, or who’s interested in seeing what it was like, may want to take a look at this thing. It’s a slightly smaller re-creation of the original console, but unlike the original, it has an HDMI out, so it can connect to modern TVs.

    Buy the new console, and you’ll get a game cartridge that holds these 10 games:

    The CX40 joystick wasn’t the only way to interact with old-school Atari games. Some games worked better with CX30 paddle controllers. This bundle includes two CX30+ controllers, as well as a cartridge that includes the following games:

    •Night Driver

    •Video Olympics

    All of these games use the two paddle controllers.

  2. Dec 2, 2023 · Like John Stamos Mullet said, standard joysticks that are 2600 compatible work. I personally tested 3 standard joysticks from Atari Flashback consoles, they all work. I also tested the Hyperkin Trooper and Ranger controllers, they work too. The Ranger works in both stick and paddle mode, which is handy.
