Even then, it is safe to assume that in terms of number of fanfictions, HP beats any other book perhaps by a huge margin.
Vaguely playing with the filters on FFN and AO3 indicates that the Harry Potter fanfiction corpus is well over two billion words in length. Back of the envelope calculations: FFN: About 91.6K Harry Potter stories above 20k in length. 91600 x 20k =1,832,000k words = 1,832,000,000 words = 1.8B words at the least.
Finally there is linkao3(Harry Potter and the Lack of Lamb Sauce) which takes an inherently silly premise, namely Gordon Ramsay being the sixth year potions teacher, and actually makes it work. The canon and original characters are well developed and fleshed out and it is overall a highly enjoyable fic.
