So I created the Visible Light Levels resource pack, compatible with most versions of minecraft. This handy pack lets you quickly grasp which blocks are safe, dangerous, and "iffy", all using vanilla shaders and a simple 3 file resource pack. Any blocks with a light level > 1 will have a faint white square highlighting them.
