(Disney officially states guests must be inside the park for the 1 p.m. drop, but we’ve learned that as long as you’ve tapped into the park, you can try to join the virtual queue at 1 p.m. from anywhere.)

The virtual queue is free for any guest to use and typically opens at 7 AM and 1 PM for guests to request. The Virtual Queue is one of the few things at Disney World that doesn’t have any additional cost! It is different fromLightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Passin that it is free to use. The free Virtual Queue is a nice alternative to paying for an Individual Lightning Lane pass which can cost up to $25 per person!

Disney is trying to limit the actual waiting in line to 30 minutes once you have checked in for your Boarding Group at the attraction. That however may fluctuate since people have an hour window to get in line.
