Jan 16, 2024 · Before returning the Empyrean II headphones, I did try them in my Macbook, by changing to the 3.5mm cable which, at just 1.3m long, is sensibly shorter. I was pleased with the sound although the output stage of this PC is clearly not of audiophile quality. Nevertheless, there was a smooth and natural sound created with a slight warmth to the tone.

Dec 6, 2023 · The Empyrean II comes with a choice of two cables, a silver-plated PCHUD and a copper alternative which is the Braided Furukawa wire that I currently use with the original Empyrean. Both cables come with a stock length of 1.3m but you can go higher to 2.5m at the checkout depending on your needs.

Meze explains that they have been listening to the community, and it was clear that they wanted a more neutral sounding Empyrean, but with retaining the easy listening experience. Dec 6, 2023 · The Empyrean II is a little leaner over the highs and less forgiving in that respect. With both using the angled pads, the Empyrean II sounds more articulate and open with a lot more perceived headroom and treble energy. It does sound brighter and more mids to highs focused than the original version using the older Alcantara pads.
