Private insurance for students not yet covered by BC MSP: There’s a 3-month waiting period before BC MSP coverage begins for new international students when they arrive in Canada. During this time, new international students at SFU not yet covered by BC MSP are automatically enrolled in a primary medical insurance plan through guard.me@SFU for their first term.
