Jul 20, 2022 · zig06. Posted October 18, 2022. Betting on what the '24 XCW's are going to be like is a risk. Personally, I think that for '24 they will get the newer frame. But because of the euro emission regulations and the fact that some of us actually "like" oil injection, that they will stay with TPI and oil injection.
The XC IMO tends to want to be rev'd up more while the W is a little more tame with a plusher suspension. If your fast, get the XC, slower get the W IMO. To me, the simplest way to think of these models is: the XC is a trail race bike while the XCW is a bike you trail ride. Sure you can ride either bike really fast.

The 2024 KTM 300XC-W has been in the Dirt Bike shop for months and now has 40 hours. First things first, the new XC-W is far smoother and trail-oriented than we expected. It appears to have the same motor as the 2023 300XC, but the cylinder, the head and most importantly, the map-ping are completely different. The new XC-W is far mellower.
