Oct 30, 2024 · As I travel to various parts of our state, people often ask me to explain Missouri’s method of selecting judges. In a nutshell, I tell them this: Back in the 1930s, the public became concerned about the increasing role of politics, money and outside influence in judicial selection and judicial decision-making.
The committee reviewed the performance of 71 judges, including two Supreme Court of Missouri judges, 10 Court of Appeals judges, 34 circuit court judges, and 25 associate circuit court judges in circuits where the judges are appointed under the Missouri Non-Partisan Court Plan.
