    Retail Food Environments in Canada - This special supplement fills important gaps in knowledge on Canadian retail food environments. It builds on the Food Environments in Canada: Symposium and Workshop in May 2015 where food environment researchers and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines explored evidence in this rapidly growing area. A recommendation emerged to consolidate key research in this multi-disciplinary field together in one place. The supplement was developed collaboratively with the University of Saskatchewan and the Propel Centre for Population Health Impact, University of Waterloo.

    Supportive Environments for Learning: healthy eating and physical activity within comprehensive school health A journal supplement contains a series of seven articles that: summarize the state of knowledge on policy options to support healthy eating and physical activity in the school setting; describe roles of stakeholders; and provide an overview of monitoring and evaluating the implementation of school policies. These articles highlight the importance of integrating action on healthy eating and physical activity within a broader comprehensive school health framework. They include key findings from scientific background papers, which provided the evidence to inform the development of the 2008 WHO School Policy Framework. The articles acknowledge that further research is needed to strengthen the evidence base to inform future programs and policies. The supplement was developed collaboratively with the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Joint Consortium for School Health.
