   Why did you choose the Atari 2600?

   • I chose the Atari 2600 because I thought it would be relatively simple and I could re-use the 6502 core for something more complicated like an NES or C64. Turns out, it's still pretty hard! In particular, the Atari 2600 has only 128 bytes of RAM.

   How hard is it to run Atari 2600?

   • Turns out, it's still pretty hard! In particular, the Atari 2600 has only 128 bytes of RAM. This means the graphics don't use any frame buffers, and instead rely on "racing" the CRT electron beam and updating various color output registers on the fly.
