I know that most parents struggle to make wise decisions for the welfare of their child. The message of “I am Sam” is more than your typical get-out-the-handkerchief movie.
Sep 13, 2024 · “Am I Racist?” rightfully exposes major problems with Critical Race Theory which paints the picture of a problem that is impossible to solve and without giving people valid hope. It is an entertaining and humorous film, and it communicates its message in a narrative form that works quite well. Kids should definitely not see this movie.
Positive —Surprising movie. I enjoyed “I am Legend” for the fact it rises above many other zombie type films of its genre. Will Smith does an excellent job in his portrayal of the possibility of being the last man on Earth. You do feel his loneliness; his isolation and his incredible bond to the only organic companion left with him.
Feb 18, 2011 · Yes, the movie does have some language, a bit of violence, and maybe a few poorly dressed females; all in all, this movie lands its rating perfectly. The violence isn’t over the top, the language is kept to a minimum (consider “The Hangover” and its over 100 f-bombs), and, as for sexual content, it’s really non-existent.

Parents may not want younger children to watch it, because this film covers the delicate subjects of puberty and homosexuality, but it comes from a completely naive and innocent perspective, and might spark (as it did in my family) important discussions among older kids about how dangerous it is to ...
And although Molly Gunn (Brittany Murphy—“8 Mile”, “Riding In Cars With Boys”, “Clueless”) and Rae Schleine (Dakota Fanning — “Sweet Home Alabama”, “I Am Sam”) don’t exist entirely as roommates, these two clearly exist and clash as a humorous and touching odd couple.

Sep 13, 2003 · Even when David trusts someone and they hurt him or betray him, he always comes away with something that helps him on his journey. This movie has so many themes that sparked discussion with the teens, such as faith, trust and perseverance. This is a great movie to use in the classroom or at home with your kids. I would highly recommend it.
NUDITY: Minor. Early on Sam is changing, and we see her lower back. A few times she places a medication patch on her abdomen. SEX: Minor to none. Two unmarried people embrace on a street. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Mild to moderate. Sam depends on medical drugs for her well-being, and this results in Eric having to retrieve some for her to use.
Oct 10, 2010 · It has been a long time since a movie has captivated me like “I Am.” We seem stuck in a sea of predictability. It is not one character that you fall in love with or hate, but all of mankind that you hope for. The plot unveils like a mystery, trying to put the pieces together, hoping the next clue reveals the end.
