Saw it today. I thought it was a really good movie. As a trans woman it was fucking infuriating seeing what that woman had to go through, but that's reality in a lot of ways unfortunately.

I loved this one, and I don't say that lightly. I love that it stars an actual transgender woman who consulted on the plot. Touching movie, I'd recommend it (tw if you're sensitive to transphobia, especially as MTF) I'm a trans guy, so I didn't really relate to the protagonist, but I totally felt her frustration.
A Fantastic Woman was an incredibly painful journey through all the strata of society a trans woman encounters. The language of the film reolves around the eventual turn, the escalating transphobic behavior that seems inevitable in any given circumstance, punctuated by brief resting periods where Marina is nothing but human.
