The story started off great and finished strong, but the middle just sort of wandered around town. The series did not go how I expected. I've written in about this before and been printed. In most stories like this, you would start out by solving the local problem and then branch out taking on larger and larger obstacles as time went on.
- Superbad. While it may be frequently trodden ground, the raunchy teen comedy trope of outsiders embarking on one final night of debauchery is a tried-and-tested recipe for comedy gold.
- Pitch Perfect. Shining a light on the world of competitive collegiate a cappella, "Pitch Perfect" focuses on the image-obsessed Barden Bellas as they recover from an unfortunate on-stage vomiting incident.
- Whip It. Marking the directorial debut of actress Drew Barrymore, "Whip It" is a charming and energetic film about an "alternative" teenager who joins a badass all-female roller derby team to escape the monotony of her sleepy hometown.
- Cool Runnings. Loosely based on the remarkable true story of Jamaica's first national bobsled team and their aspirations for Olympic glory, "Cool Runnings" is a classic feel-good sports comedy about unlikely underdogs and the defiant strength of the human spirit.
