The thing is Spider-man 2 and no way home are essentially at the root level true Spider-Man stories. The stories which basically showed some really key character development moments for the character but nwh focused on so many things at once that it felt short.
It's actually a good film, but not a masterpiece. The story was amazing it didn’t just rely on nostalgia/fan service. Definitely “great” because of nostalgia. The plot is weak, storyline and moments that should be more impactful are forgotten, poorly reasoned or not focused on.
Major spoilers ahead: I'll first get into the problems I had with No Way Home. I really liked the idea of bringing multiple Spidermen, but I feel Into the Spiderverse handled the idea of incorporating multiple Spiderman within the plot better. The Spidermen in Spiderverse just seemed to fit in their movie more organically.
