  1. I’m watching Top Chef for the first time in order and I’ve reached season 7. I’m on the third episode (pie quickfire/Mount Vernon picnic) and I really do not like ANY of the contestants. I actively dislike a lot of them.

  2. The following is a tier based ranking on the top chef seasons. Two points of note: this tries to balance the strength of a season's total group of chefs and it's quality at the very top. That means some seasons that are very top heavy will rank lower than ones with a more evenly balanced group.

    • Top Chef: Chicago. SO MUCH FUN. Like the perfect cast with just the right amount of drama that really made Top Chef the television dynasty that it is today.
    • Top Chef: All Stars (Season 8) I lost my s**t when they announced the cast for All Stars as it was pretty much spot on. The ONLY REASON why this isn’t number one is because it felt like it was designed for Richard Blais to win given his dramatic loss in his initial season.
    • Top Chef: California (Season 13) Yes, this was the bro-iest of Top Chef seasons, but it was still sooooooo fun to watch! This was the show’s best season in terms of highlighting all the area that they were in from Los Angeles all the way to San Francisco.
    • Top Chef: Miami (Season 3) Miami was the first season of Top Chef that helped become what it is today. They finally found the right blend of contestants to root for amid an area of the country that was vibrant to witness.
  3. Currently on Top Chef California and really loving it as well. The contestants are ridiculous and totally playing up to camera, but fun (no spoilers please). My question is, what season should I watch next? I like seasons with BIG characters and LOTS of drama. Preferably newer seasons, although I am thinking about watching season 8 (All Stars ...
