  1. Overall, 'Battlezone 2000' is a superior Lynx game for the system, and which is only let down by a lack of variety in level stages. But I'm going to say "Don't let that stop you from checking this game out!"

  2. May 28, 2013 · The developers made a true "2000" game much like Tempest 2000, a complete reimagining of Battlezone. Very complex, 2000 levels, scaling and solid polygon enemies instead of vector graphics. Atari then deemed it too complex and had them make a straight port of the old Battlezone instead.

  3. Released by Atari back in November 1980 and created by Ed Rotberg, Battlezone was a first person shooter that put you in the driving seat of a tank where you could roam the landscape to seek out and destroy other tanks.

  4. Whether with one player or four, BATTLEZONE 2000 is a fast-paced and challenging upgrade of the original arcade game. There's enough variety and excitement to keep most players entertained, though some might find it a little repetitive.

  5. Jul 27, 2021 · Battlezone 2000 isn’t what I would call an ‘essential’ Lynx game, but it is fun in short bursts. The speed and intuitive nature of the regular game makes it engaging and playable. The hidden game doesn’t add a great deal to the package, unfortunately, but is a somewhat interesting diversion.

  6. GOOD POINTS: Very well done intro music, and the sounds effects are good, although more varied than the original. But from a graphics and gameplay perspective, this is a faithful arcade conversion with some useful enhancements.

  8. Battlezone wasn't a particularly deep game to begin with, and the same thing can be said of the Lynx update. The mission-based scenario of each level does provide a new strategy element to the game, but with the repetitive gameplay and lack of variety in the enemies (and their AI), each stage feels the same after a few plays.
