But i don’t want the final surface to be gloss . will clear coating with matte after decals work with little issue.

Appear to be the most popular choice among advanced model-car builders who do not use two-part clearcoats. Cons: Shrinks as it dries, leaving a fine, orange-peel texture. When you're done, the colour is even and matt (no shinier than satin): You do not need to do anything to this coat -- no sanding, no polishing, no flatting.
