Calamity in one of a few extensive mods and it was ported to Terraria 1.4 recently, so it's my main point of interest. Still, one question remains... how should I start my adventure? Are there specific mob / boss items that drop only on expert difficulty in Calamity?
I would recommend for your first calamity play through to avoid other major content mods to get the best experience, as for QOL mods, recipe browser and magic storage are a must, as the amount of new items nearly doubles the size of the game. I would also recommend alchemistNPClite.
Ranger is the one I've had the most fun with. It's a fun blend of "Oh hell I gotta dodge" and "Wow I am stomping this boss". Especially on higher difficulties, it's the perfect amount of on-the-edge fun I think you can have.
Sep 27, 2023 · Introducing the best, most fun boss of the run. Empress has high health, decent damage, a broad array of moves, and most notably hasn't been made a nightmare to deal with due to GetFixedBoi changes or any weirdness from the health scaling.

Difficulty refers to how challenging the gameplay is. There are two additional options to difficulty within the Calamity Mod, both of which increase the difficulty of the game. These difficulties are available from a separate UI element available when a player has entered a world, and are compatible with the base difficulties in Terraria.
