Undead Mobs
Undead Mobs comprise of the many zombie and skeleton variants in the game. Most of these burn up when exposed to sunlight, but there are a few exemptions. They also take additional damage from weapons enchanted with Smite.
Creeper Variants
There are only two variants of the creeper, the standard Creeper that spawns in the overword, and the Charged Creeper which is significantly more powerful and spaws when a creeper is struck by lightning.
Illager Mobs
Illagers are the hostile counterpart of villagers. They are instantly hostile to all villagers and players they encounter. You can often find them near outposts, inside woodland mansions, or during raids.
Nether Mobs are usually only found in the nether dimension with a few unique exemptions. Many nether mobs are only found in specific biomes or inside Nether Fortresses.
End Mobs are usually found in the end or are spawned in other dimensions with with end items like Ender Pearls. Many end mobs also have the ability to teleport or appear out of thin air.
Boss Mobs are incredibly powerful mobs that you cannot encounter normally in the world. A boss health bar will usually appear at the top of your screen when you approach a boss mob.

- Creeper (Hostile) A silent fellow with an explosive personality. The creeper is a mob that can sneak up on you when you least expect it and trigger a devastating attack by blowing itself up, leaving behind a terrible mess.
- Zombie (Hostile) The groaning zombie is a hostile – and also very needy – fellow. What does it need? To bite players! Preferably: you! While it may be persistent with getting what it craves, the zombie is also quite slow and not very smart.
- Cow (Passive) This beefy bovine is a common sight in many Minecraft biomes. It can be found mooing about in grassy areas, minding its own business in smaller herds.
- Pig (Passive) If you ever hear a cute oinking sound near you, it can only mean one thing – there’s a pig in your bedroom! Or, if you’re lucky, a pig in your Minecraft world!
From what I've heard, the overworld hostile mob spawning have slightly changed. The max height block used to ruin rates for a farm, gnembon explains it in his video. It meant that the lower you built your farm, the faster mob would spawn.
Started playing a Dedicated Custom Modded Minecraft Server (10GB of RAM) with a friend of mine. In the beginning, it was just fine, all hostile mobs were spawning in the modded structures as well as in the world naturally. But now they just don't. They just spawn rarely in the modded structures and i can't see a single one in the overworld.
