Crazy to think mg was shilling this on /mu/ 10years ago and now they’re selling out shows. So awesome to see the progress. First saw them live at the milkrun in Omaha in 2017 when I was in HS. He signed my Gemini cassette and just said “stay in skool”. Still makes me laugh.

Sep 6, 2024 · One thing that has changed since Wlfgrl, and most notably on MG Ultra, is the level of polish. There’s a new clarity and melody to Stephenson’s vocals on the new record, and the instrumentals have lost some of the “razor-sharp edge” associated with earlier releases.

3 days ago · The album is still loud and mean enough to scare the shit out of your parents, but it’s also filled with plenty of catchy-as-hell rave stabs that could set a big festival dancing reasonably hard. Much like Björk taking experimental music to the masses in her ’90s pop output, Machine Girl have figured out a way to get complete weirdness in front of a lot of people.
