Even comparing to just the 5200, there are some notable differences. Centipede, Space Invaders, and the XE versions of Mario Bros. and Choplifter are obvious examples.

  6. The 2600 is a real downgrade in every way from a NES or even SMS. There were some super popular games (Aventure, Pacman, River Raid) but how well they hold up over time is debatable. I won't lie, I own a 2600 and 7800 and never play either. Been a fan of the 8-bit era for a while: NES, SMS, but never had an Atari.
