Barron's is really bad if you don't have prior biology knowledge (I took normal Canadian biology in semester 1), but it's a really good guideline for what you should be studying and also introduces more "specific" topics that have shown up repeatedly in past exams. However, paired with Khan Academy, I think the lack of depth was balanced out.
Barrons is good for practice problems because they have a lot of tough questions (a little tougher than the actual AP exam). Princeton review is good for reviewing things 1-2 months before the test—it’s concise and has some good organizers.
If your teacher sucks and doesn’t know how to teach or you’re self studying, it’s perfect imo. If you are just using it in addition to class, and you’ve understood most of the topics throughout the year, then it’s over detailed.
