Dec 25, 2013 · Battlezone is yet another impressive port of an arcade game onto the 2600. First off, the gameplay is stellar. Battle zone was a great first-person tank shooter, & Atari did a great job translating what made the original arcade game so much fun.
-Currently, about 14 games are sold per month for the Atari 2600 version. -Battlezone was recommissioned as a training simulator for the US Army. Two prototypes were produced, one supposedly lost, and the other is in a private collection after the owner found it next to a dumpster outside of Midway’s parking lot.
