  1. May 18, 2021 · My thoughts are turning to Battlezone. Is the step meant for anti-tipping or just a way for kids to get a good height to look through the periscope? How much play does it get in a lineup? Is it ignored because the periscope obscures the monitor? I have not played one for many years since they are often broken. I waffle on wanting to own one.

  2. BattleZone is one of our personal favorites at PrimeTime Amusements. In particular, this game was huge for me growing up as it was the oldest title in my favorite FEC at the time. FECs in South America were few and far in between. As a kid growing up in Venezuela, well, you take what you can get; beggars can’t be choosers!

It costs a good chunk of change to get a rating and they're only necessary if you're selling in physical stores (or a few restrictive digital markets - not Steam or GOG) - and even then stores aren't obliged to require or respect the ratings because the ESRB has no legal power.

  6. Mar 26, 2020 · There are some arcade games that just don’t play the same without the original hardware. I’d contend that some things like driving games don’t require the immersive driver seat setup to provide the same challenge on a home console, but after its 1980 release, it would take many years for Battlezone’s dual joystick controls to be a standard part of game controllers, meaning most early ...
