The noticeable difference is the framerate and some details, but the game holds up remarkably well and should satisfy those eager to have the Battlezone experience on the switch.

Aug 17, 2023 · tl;dr – Battlezone is a reboot of the arcade classic that has you driving a tank and blasting away enemies in a digital landscape. The Action elements here combine well with some Roguelike elements, and while the gameplay here has some small frustrations, this is overall a satisfying Action title. Grade: C+.
Nov 7, 2018 · Overall, Battlezone: Gold Edition is a feature-rich remake of what was a very simplistic 1980’s arcade game. You may prefer the authenticity of actually being in a tank with the PS VR version, but the Switch edition is just as great, if not better due to being able to take the title on-the-go.
Dec 10, 2018 · Battlezone: Gold Edition is fantastic for the PlayStation 4 and just as good on the Nintendo Switch. On the PlayStation 4, players can play with or without VR at 60fps, and with a spectacular visual presentation.
