Big Eyes is a 2014 American biographical comedy drama film directed by Tim Burton, written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, and starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz. It is about the relationship between American artist Margaret Keane and her second husband, Walter Keane , who, in the 1950s and 1960s, took credit for Margaret's phenomenally popular paintings of people with big eyes.

Following the recipe of Scissorhands or Ed Wood which might have captured the stifling weirdness of the misogynist, high art zeitgeist in which Margaret Keane’s sad and outrageous fortunes played out.
That story became the real-life inspiration for the currently released film Big Eyes, directed by Tim Burton, whom the duo previously worked with on 1994’s Ed Wood. Though Big Eyes was seemingly a straightforward project, the team was faced with over a decade of setbacks as they worked tirelessly to get the film produced.

The fact that, toward the end of the movie, the Jehovah’s Witnesses came to help her in seeing that it was wrong to lie was no reason to put down these people, in a cult, trying to help.
