With three top-notch series to her credit, Elly Griffiths is one of my must-read mystery authors. BLEEDING HEART YARD, her third DI Harbinder Kaur novel, will keep readers guessing right up until the very end. Cassie Fitzgerald is a police officer who finds herself the prime suspect in the murder of a former classmate during a school reunion.
Jan 30, 2023 · Of all the Elly Griffiths novels I’ve read and enjoyed, her Harbinder Kaur books are by far my favorite so far. Bleeding Heart Yard is the third in this not-a-series, as Harbinder is promoted to Detective Inspector and transferred to London from her relatively sleepy beachside home. It’s a sea change for her, with everyone back in Sussex ...
But, not to worry, Bleeding Heart Yard is no romance story. Harbinder Kaur is dedicated to her job, and this story is a police procedural in its finest form. One of the aspects of Elly Griffith’s writing I admire the most is her always pushing herself to not grow complacent in the success of the tried and true.
Sep 24, 2022 · Misdirection is forced upon you with every turn of the page. Even the title, Bleeding Heart Yard, could be misdirection, although it is part of the plot, in several different forms. But although Elly Griffiths leads you through a tortuous maze of lies, deceit and forgetfulness (the characters, not mine this time), the story is brilliantly written.
