Sep 6, 2024 · September 6, 2024. Older musicians slowly losing their ability to play is one of the most heartbreaking things to witness. But Bob Wood, a Tennessee guitarist, was still going so ridiculously strong at the age of 80 that a clip of him shredding in a music shop went viral on YouTube, amassing over 10.3 million views to date!
The video was shot more than a year ago, but the incredible clip has resurfaced in the last few weeks and become an online sensation, amassing over 2.2 million views on Facebook. According to Wood's daughter Melanie Wood Moody, the now 81-year-old was signed as a regular performer at Jamboree USA in Wheeling, West Virginia, in 1970, and performed there for 10 years.
