Aug 12, 2019 · Citystate is the political compass test of city-builders, it is the player behind the scenes planning the cities of Capitalism II (only real gamers will get this reference). It is the type of game that someone obsessed with cities would make, and then refine, and refine, upon receiving constructive feedback from its fans.
I really enjoy playing the game and don't get me wrong - I don't complain about the settings, if it's meant to be hard, then it's good. But heavily struggle with 300k+ population. I guess I expand too fast, I prefer high-density. Even if I place parks like hell, after some time, the buildings degrade to parking spots. I don't know.

From steam by "Brother Korael" "This is an interesting game that works with big ideas, and compartmentalises them into both obvious, and not as obvious, consequences. The basic idea is that you build a city-state, not simply a city of which you are a mayor but something like Singapore or Hong Kong.

City-State. Citystate is a Simulation Game created by Andy Sztark in the same vein as Sim City 2000. In it, you build and control a regular city much akin to other city building games, but with a twist; you control all of the government policies as one would in an actual City-State, ranging from an oppressive dictatorship to complete anarchy.
