The first novel of the Chief Inspector Woodend series written by Sally Spencer was published under the title ‘The Salton Killings’. It was published in the year 1999 by the Dales Large Print Books. The plot of the novel opens up with the discovery of the strangled dead body of a teenager named Diane Thornburn.
