I tried Citra out of curiosity on an M1 Pro a year or so ago on an early apple silicon build. It ran (sonic legends) through Rosetta, but it was just a touch too slow to be playable so I'd honestly suggest just getting a used 3ds/2ds, they've only been out of production for about 3 years, so not old enough to be rarities.
