   At one time during the late 90’s and early 2000’s Croydon was an amazing place to live. I live in Shirley which is a decent side of Croydon.. Purley, Coulsdon and parts of South Croydon are nice also.. however, the town centre is now a complete dive..    What's it like living in Croydon?

   • I have lived all over the South East (Surrey and Brighton) and now live in Croydon and can truly say I love it. The parks are wonderful (those mentioned and Coombe Wood Gardens). Transport is of course excellent. We know our neighbours in our block and they have all been great.

   • Quiet streets but not far from the hustle and bustle. Lovely schools (Whitgift), parks and great local shops with loads of cafes, bakers and world foods. You get a bit more for your money in South Croydon, however it all depends on what you are after. Are you renting or buying? NB: West Croydon is my big no no too

   • East Croydon is fine, you have boxpark right next to it so always people about. Loads of flats going up which is important for Croydon Central in my opinion, it needs a bunch of locals to spend locally. That will encourage more local bars, restaurants and shops to open.
