Jul 4, 2019 · Brand History & Philosophy. C.H. Wohlford via Vancouver Heritage Society. The roots of Dayton Boots can be traced back 1940s Vancouver. A bartender named C.H. ‘Charlie’ Wohlford was in the midst of gaining a strong reputation for repairing logging boots in the back of a popular Vancouver drinking establishment, the Lumberman’s Social Club.

May 30, 2023 · The new owners of Dayton Boots are rebranding as Wohlford & Company, named after the shop's original founder Charlie Wohlford. The rebrand will also come with minor design adjustments.
- Boulet Boots. Founded in 1933 in St. Tite, Quebec, as the St-Tite Shoe Company, Boulet was soon awarded a contract through the Department of National defense to make boots for the Armed Forces.
- Canada West. Family owned and operated since 1978, Canada West Boots manufactures a variety of footwear out of their Winnipeg, MB based factory. In addition to The WM Moorby Signature Series, which features their heritage lineup, they also offer work, Western and biker boots.
- Dayton. Dayton boots began in 1946 and was quickly heralded as the best made logging boot in the country. In the 1960’s they began using the Goodyear welt in addition to their hand nailed boots.
- Viberg. Edwin Viberg immigrated to Canada from Sweden and began making shoes for logging camps out of his leather goods shop in Shellbrook Saskatchewan at the age of 21.
