- See the Main Sights. Now, if you’ve read my blog before, you may know that I don’t think it’s strictly necessary to see all the main tourist attractions when you visit a new place.
- Stroll the Quaint Streets. One of my favorite things to do in Delft is without a doubt just wandering the streets and canals. I think there’s no better way to get acquainted with a new place than simply wandering around without a destination and seeing what you discover!
- Take the Royal Delft Factory Tour. The Royal Delft Museum is the best and most comprehensive way to get an up-close look at the famous Delft Blue pottery.
- Visit the Vermeer Museum. At the Vermeer Centrum Delft you can learn about the life and work of Delft’s most famous painter, Johannes Vermeer. The museum is super easy to find, located right in the center of the city, just off the main square.

While staying in Rotterdam, Delft was a quick 12-minute ride from Rotterdam Centraal train station. A pint-sized version of Amsterdam, Delft has canals circulating the city, bikes instead of cars, and streets lined with handsome, three-story brick buildings from the 16th and 17th centuries.

Cobbled lanes can be found in abundance and so be sure to leave the high heels at home and stick to comfortable walking shoes such as sneakers or other flats.
