Both times, Dewey was indeed stabbed in the exact same spot in the back in Scream 1 and Scream 2. He survives Scream 1 through just dumb luck, and in Scream 2, a paramedic heard saying "it got him right in old scar tissue". The scar tissue added just another layer of skin that protected him.
In Scream (2022), Dewey said he was stabbed nine times, if I recall correctly. Was he really? I feel like he was stabbed once in the first movie, and three or four times in the second haha. We never actually saw how many times he got stabbed in Scream 2.
After being separated, Dewey is stabbed several times with Gale a witness in a soundproof room directly on the opposite side of a window showing Dewey's location. However, once again, Dewey survives the ordeal, and this time Gale follows him into the ambulance.
