Jan 10, 2022 · In total, viewing dominance rank as a trajectory that unfolds over the life course will reveal typical patterns of dominance trajectories, potential alternative strategies to maximizing fitness in hierarchical societies, and the role of social mobility in the evolution of status-seeking (or status-preserving, e.g. ) behaviour.

May 4, 2024 · Dominance Analysis. The focus of the domir package is on dominance analysis (DA). DA is a method that resolves the indeterminacy of trying to ascribe a the results from a predictive model’s fit metric, referred to as a ‘value’ in the package, to individual predictive factors (i.e., independent variables/IVs, predictors, features), referred to as ‘names’ in the package.
Sep 9, 2020 · Here, we compare the ability of two dominance rank metrics—simple ordinal rank and proportional or ‘standardized’ rank—to predict 20 traits in a wild baboon population in Amboseli, Kenya. We propose that simple ordinal rank best predicts traits when competition is density-dependent, whereas proportional rank best predicts traits when competition is density-independent.

Nov 23, 2012 · Lower values of the stability index indicate more frequent rank order changes, as shown by frequent line crossings for one of the least stable dominance rank orders in Figure 4A. Within each of the 40 datasets, the stability index estimate varied little across the 200 replicate backdropped runs (mean SD = 0.02) and all means and medians were very similar, meaning that any of the replicate ...

Sep 24, 2013 · I can use R and the package igraph to easily construct such graphs, e.g. create a data frame of edges. This plotted graph shows that node 1 influences nodes 2, 3, and 4 (is dominant to them), that 2 is dominant to 3 and 4, and that 3 is dominant to 4. However, I see no easy way to actually calculate a dominance hierarchy as in the page: https ...

Mar 1, 2020 · In particular, we show that the Laplacian spectrum of a complete dominance graph is extremely well-conditioned; thus, for small perturbations, the corresponding Hausdorff distance is guaranteed to be small. Then, we show that a single edge change of a complete dominance graph results in a Hausdorff distance equal to the weight of that edge.
