Yes, both of them are worth watching. Great anime doesn't become bad, just because they're old. OG Dragon Ball is an amazing adventure, while Dragon Ball Z is a great battle shounen as well.
The core adaption of Dragon Ball is very good, which includes Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. There's some supplementary anime stuff I reccomend including Bardock the Father of Goku and History of Trunks for Z, but I don't recommend watching them until Freiza and Trunks are introduced respectively.
The OG dragon ball is still the best for me. I started with DBZ as a kid but the charm of OG DB is unmatched really. DB Super is still pretty good and they’ll definitely bring it back in a few years.
