  2. The humour is especially important, to me, at least: she's got smart characters with good banter. Some of the more recent ( My American Duchess) feel a tiny bit more 'by the numbers', but you can't go wrong with her backlist, especially the (delightfully lengthy) Desperate Duchesses series.
