As to the community in social media, can't really escape negativity and bad experiences. The larger the community is, the more the bad apples there are, same with other large communities too. They also tend to be louder, giving the community a bad rep. If issues are starting to get to me, I just log off or delete the social media apps for a while.
Genhin Impact is free, you don't have to buy it. The game is really engaging and has a good storyline but is still under development so not all of the "main" storyline is available yet. The community is about as good or bad as any other internet community.
Looking at how many other games there are, with more content, actual sense of progression etc, i dont get why people stick with genshin. gameplay is a loop of attack and use your ability, combine 4 characters of yours that arent important in any way (because you can use whichever character you want, content is mostly doable with like 2 strong characters).
