Turning off the content blocker and playing the video is one way of finding out if Google is slowing down the video buffer deliberately.
Thanks for pointing this out, youtube really needs to pay for this, its so annoying. I will also add that considering a lot of people who arent much tech literate are switching to Firefox after youtube started cracking down on adblockers, them seeing such slow performance on firefox would make them think that firefox is a slow browser which will make them switching back to Chrome or Edge.
