The band's resulting success made this more galling. Some criticize Green Day because they can't hear the consistencies in their music over the years. Those people like to point out how the band's sound has evolved and focus on power pop and rock elements, as if they weren't there all along.
Still Breathing is such a beautiful anthem, but the music video was just… boring and cheap? Idk it’s a super important and empowering song, but the video was really just b-roll footage of dramatic “looking off in the distance” shots, nature/outdoors, and them playing together.

Also "Nightlife" has been notoriously labeled as a shitty song, but I think there's a time and a place for it. well that and All By Myself would be the worst if seen as regular green day songs, but it's just Tre fucking around, which i think makes them funny and i like hearing both songs.

Green Day sucks. Green Day is the worst popular band of the 90s. I already don’t really like pop punk, but looking past that. Their hooks are shit. The instruments are really only ok, but the singers voice is just grating. The only ok song they’ve ever made is basket case and that was it. A lot of their songs are the same thing.
