  1. Let me start off by talking about the positives of having Emma Watson play Hermione in the movie adaptations of the series. - Emma Watson looks similar to how Hermione is described in the books. She is conventionally pretty but does not have supermodel good looks.

  2. A lot of people loved movie Hermione because Watson is theoretically 'pretty' and associated that with her being a good character, but she's not really, not in the films. She has no growth, little development, she's just "clever and good".

    • Perfectionist
    • Compassionate
    • Blunt
    • Determined
    • Opinionated
    • Loyal
    • Impatient

Smartshould be the first trait listed out, as it is the most obvious. Hermione loves learning, studying, answering questions in class, and sharing knowledge with others. She has a knack for soaking up tons of information, and she works hard to apply and spread it all.

Due to how much she reads and how she thinks, she can also be skeptical. There are plenty of scenes in these books and movies that show her questioning things and proceeding with caution. While being logical and not being gullible can be smart, this trait sometimes causes Hermione to overthink or miss out on something new and exciting.

As mentioned, this character is hardworking. Since the majority of her story focuses on her time in school, this has been shown off through her time in the library and her focus while taking tests. Hardworking souls tend to be perfectionists, and this is not necessarily a bad thing; it has assisted in getting Hermione so far in life. However, she is probably pretty stressed out all the time, as she narrows in on details, redoes tasks until they are flawless, beats herself up over mistakes, and knit-picks at others who are not meeting her stan...

Another trait seen often in Hermione is kindness. Sure, she can come off in a very strong way, but from the beginning, she has been friendly to Ron and Harry, she has offered up smiles to her peers, she has lent a helping hand whenever necessary, and she has gone over and beyond for her loved ones. From getting to know someone and assisting with ho...

But, yes, her first impression may, instead, just be blunt! She is so brilliant, strong, and outspoken, so when she is sharing her opinion or offering advice, it can come out in a not-so-nice way. Even her best friends have commented that she can be scary. Those who really know her, however, know that this is just the way she is and that she is act...

Next up on the list is determination. Once again, this is put on display at school and in many other areas of life. When Hermione has a certain goal in mind, she does not stop until she gets it. Not only can this character be blunt, but she can be opinionated, as well. A positive outlook on this characteristic is that no one ever questions where they stand with her; she will always let someone know her real feelings! This means there are more chances for her words to be spoken in a rude or harsh way, and this means there are plenty of time...

Finally, Hermione is loyal. It has already been discussed that she can show off a warm cheerfulness to those around her. When it comes to the ones who matter most, however, this bond is taken further. From giving advice and providing a shoulder to cry on to putting her life at risk and never judging, Hermione, Ron, and Harry are the picture-perfect...

Remember: This character is not perfect, and her besties have been known to point out some of her flaws now and then. They have also been known to make dumb decisions, have crushes on not-so-great people, slack off in class, and beat around the bush. All of that and more has led Hermione to become impatient and aggravated! Yes, some of her best tra...

  3. I think book Hermione is a much more fleshed out and flawed character than movie Hermione. But I simply put this down to available time for details in the films, especially with the exclusion of the SPEW subplot which wasn’t important to the plot but added dimension to Hermione’s character.

    • She isn't good at everything. While Hermione's entire persona seems to be defined by her intellect and perfectionism, it doesn't mean that she can do everything.
    • She didn't leave her parents in Australia. Quite a few fans were upset at the idea of Hermione forever erasing her parents memories. She initially did it in order to save them from Death Eaters, and sent her parents off to Australia where they would be safe.
    • She should be with Ron Weasley. If you're a Harry Potter fan, you already know that a lot of people wanted Harry and Hermione to end up together in the end.
    • Her courage outweighs her intelligence. Hermione is everyone's favorite bookworm, and is often defined by how smart she is. Even the teachers at Hogwarts knew it, giving her special treatment and letting her use a time turner in order to take more classes than the other students.
  4. Sep 29, 2020 · In both the books and movies, Hermione is a very loyal friend. Arguably, Harry's most loyal friend, Hermione, was known to stand by Harry's side through everything. Even when she would upset Harry, her intention usually came from being worried about Harry's safety.
